A ratio compares two values. It shows you that when you have this much of something, you will need to have that much of something else.
Financial ratios provide the analyst with a means for making meaningful comparison of a firm's financial data over time and with other firms. Thus, financial ratios represent an attempt to standardize financial information in order to facilitate meaningful comparisons. In this course we will understand the different types of ratios and how they are used to report on companies.
